BACKGROUND
OF ECOSMART KIDS
As a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, GoodWe is dedicated to fulfilling its environmental and social responsibilities and helping to pave the way for a zero-carbon future.
GoodWe saw an opportunity to create an innovative platform in which to engage with children, schools and families across Australia, resulting in the creation of EcoSmart Kids.
EcoSmart Kids was launched in 2023, as an educational program and resource for schools and youth groups to provide awareness and information regarding the impacts of climate change, the many ways in which we can help the environment and how solar technology contributes.
Goals of Ecosmart Kids
EcoSmart Kids aims to:
-
Enhance social responsibility
-
Build knowledge around core subjects
-
Cultivate creativity and grow confidence
-
Inspire and encourage the next generation of sustainability leaders
ECOSMART KIDS PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Interactive Workshop and Creative Competition
The GoodWe Australia team, utilizing its "Smart Innovation Vehicle" and holding "Working with Children Permits", has visited numerous schools over the years, delivering EcoSmart Kids interactive workshops and competitions to thousands of children across grades 2 to 6.
In addition to delivering workshops, children were invited to take part in a competition to promote positive environmental messages, to stimulate their creativity and imagination. In turn, GoodWe hopes that this enthusiasm and awareness generated by the program, is then passed on through schools, families, friends and the wider community.
EcoSmart Kids in First Nations Communities
The GoodWe Australia team has also introduced the EcoSmart Kids program to Indigenous communities to celebrate the launch of a remote solar microgrid supported by GoodWe products. Local children created solar-related artwork, and GoodWe provided them with prizes and glow-in-the-dark gifts, hosting a Solar Disco Party”to commemorate the activation of the solar system. Additionally, GoodWe offered further educational resources and donations to local community schools.
