Australian cricket star and GoodWe ambassador Alex Carey will take his partnership with GoodWe onto the pitch, with the clean energy brand becoming an official sponsor of his iconic Kookaburra cricket bat. The new GoodWe branding will make its international debut when Australia faces Zimbabwe in the first One Day International in Harare on 15 September 2026.
From there, the GoodWe sticker will remain on Carey's bat throughout a packed international season. It will culminate in one of Australian cricket's most significant occasions, the 150th Anniversary Test against England at the MCG in March 2027.
The bat sponsorship marks another milestone in GoodWe's growing partnership with Carey, who joined the company as an Australian brand ambassador in 2025.

Since then, the relationship has extended well beyond a traditional sporting partnership. Carey has supported GoodWe's work to promote cleaner, smarter energy and greater sustainability among Australian households.
Carey has previously spoken about his pride in representing GoodWe and supporting its work towards a more sustainable future.

Now, the partnership will become considerably more visible when he walks to the crease. Alex commented:
"I'm really pleased to have GoodWe step up as the naming partner on my Kookaburra bat. They’ve backed me strongly off the field, so it means a lot to carry their logo out in the middle every innings this summer. It's a partnership built on shared values, and I'm excited for fans to see it come to life.”
Behind the scenes at Kookaburra
Ahead of the new sponsorship taking to the field, GoodWe was given exclusive access to Kookaburra's Melbourne bat-making facility. The GoodWe team followed the creation of one of Carey's actual bats from start to finish.
Under the expert hand of Kookaburra bat maker Lachlan Dinger, the team watched as the raw English willow was transformed into a bat made specifically to Carey's requirements.
Carey uses Kookaburra's 2026/27 Kahuna, one of the Australian manufacturer's most recognisable cricket bat ranges. Kookaburra's professional bats are handcrafted, with each piece of willow individually shaped, pressed, balanced, and finished for the player.
The visit offered a rare look at the craftsmanship behind equipment used at international cricket's highest level. It also provided GoodWe with the opportunity to see its new branding applied to Carey's finished bat.
GoodWe thanks Kookaburra and Dinger for providing the exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the process.
A partnership steeped in cricket tradition
GoodWe Australia Country Manager Dean Williamson said becoming Carey's official bat sponsor represented an important progression in the partnership.
"Bat sponsorship has a special place in cricket. The brands a player carries onto the field become part of their identity and their journey throughout a season," Williamson said.
"For GoodWe to have our name on Alex's bat is something we're incredibly proud of. It represents how far this partnership has come and the strength of the relationship we've built together. Alex has been a fantastic ambassador for GoodWe and genuinely believes in what we're trying to achieve. Taking that partnership onto the field feels like a natural next step.”
"We're particularly excited knowing this bat could be there for some enormous moments over the coming months, right through to the historic 150th Anniversary Test at the MCG."
The sponsorship builds upon GoodWe's broader commitment to Australian sport, community, and sustainability. Carey originally joined GoodWe as an ambassador through a shared commitment to environmental awareness and practical action on cleaner energy.
As one of Australia's leading wicketkeeper-batters, Carey has also seen changing weather conditions firsthand throughout more than a decade of domestic and international cricket.
His partnership with GoodWe gives him another platform to encourage Australians to consider how cleaner energy technologies can reduce their environmental impact.
The GoodWe-branded Kahuna will make its first appearance during Australia's three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, beginning on 15 September.
From Harare to the MCG, GoodWe will now be along for every innings.
